Ervin Munir

Norfolk-based singer-songwriter Ervin Munir returns with his highly anticipated second studio album, “Pure and Simple,” now available everywhere. Following the success of his debut album Broken Compass, Munir delivers a heartfelt and introspective collection of songs that explore love, sorrow, loss, and self-discovery, all wrapped in his signature folk storytelling and rich instrumentation.

From the very first track, “Pure and Simple” lives up to its name. Munir masterfully balances intimate, stripped-down moments with grand, sweeping arrangements, creating an album that feels both personal and expansive. A standout is the deeply moving “Felixstowe”, a song that encapsulates the album’s emotional depth, complete with a striking drum solo that adds to its intensity. The title track, “Pure and Simple”, is another highlight, a beautifully crafted song that distills Munir’s musical vision into something truly special.

The album also boasts impressive collaborations, adding layers of texture to its sound. Aeron Z Jones lends his talents on bass, electric, and slide guitar across several tracks, while Tina Blaber‘s stunning vocals elevate songs like “King” and “Doors”, the latter of which features Munir himself on piano—a rare and personal touch that enhances the album’s authenticity.
